Tobias Feldmann (*1991) started playing the violin at the age of seven. Only one year later he was accepted as a pre-college student at the Hochschule für Musik Würzburg where he studied with Prof. Herwig Zack. Since 2010, he is studying with Prof. Antje Weithaas at the Hochschule für Musik ,,Hanns Eisler“ in Berlin.
Tobias has been awarded numerous prizes at national and international competitions. He was repeatedly a first-prize winner at the national level of Germany’s “Jugend musiziert” competition, furthermore he won the “Grand Prix” at the “International Dvarionas Violin Competition” in Vilnius/Lithuenia (2004) and first prizes at the “International Louis-Spohr-Competition” in Kassel (2004, with audience award) and the “International Violin Competition Ion Voicu”at Piatra Neamt/Romania (2008, with audience award and another special price).
In 2006, he received second prizes at the “Concorso Internationale Andrea Postacchini” in Fermo, Italy and, one year later, at the International Kocian Violin Competition at Ústí nad Orlicí, Czech Republic.
From 2006 – 2010 he was a member of the National Youth Orchestra of Germany, serving two years as concertmaster. Several broadcast productions are documenting his wide repertoire. He gave concerts with the Wuerzburg Philharmonic Orchestra, the Goettingen Symphony Orchestra, the „Iasi Philharmonic” and the Hof Symphony Ochestra amongst others. Concert tours led him to Russia and Switzerland.
As a laureate of the 14th Competition of the “Deutscher Musikinstrumentenfonds der Deutschen Stiftung Musikleben”, Tobias Feldmann benefits from playing a violin made by Giovanni Grancino from 1673. He was awarded a scholarship by the “Oscar und Vera-Ritter-Stiftung” in 2008 and in 2010 he was accepted for a scholarship from the “Studienstiftung des Deutschen Volkes”.
At the 4th International Violin Competition Henri Marteau, Tobias Feldmann was awarded 1st prize, the audience award and the prizes for the best interpretation of Bach and Reger.
